This tree and store, depicted in a charming watercolour above the bar, are the namesake and inspiration behind Ficus.
Elizabeth’s influence on Murray is profound. Her years spent in Ghana, coupled with her love for African flowers, plants, and art, shaped the African-inspired theme that pervades Ficus. Elizabeth’s fondness for the odd gin and tonic adds a personal touch to the bar’s menu. Although Elizabeth passed away in 2019, her spirit lives on through Murray and this intimate cocktail bar, making every visit to Ficus a tribute to her legacy.
