My Ultimate Hotel List in Spain Part 3

Hotel Precioso

During my recent trip to Madrid, I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Preciados, and I must say, it was an experience worth sharing. Here’s a detailed account of my stay, highlighting why I believe this hotel offers incredible value for money.

One of the standout features of Hotel Preciados is its incredible blackout curtains and shutters. If you’re like me and value a good night’s sleep, this hotel has got you covered—literally. The electric blackout curtains made the room absolutely pitch black, ensuring a restful sleep free from any light disturbances. Coupled with a fabulously functioning air conditioning system—a rarity in many European hotels—my sleep experience was nothing short of perfect.

Hotel Preciados boasts a prime location, just a short walk from Madrid’s main attractions, museums, and vibrant plazas. Whether you’re interested in exploring the Prado Museum, strolling through the bustling Puerta del Sol, or enjoying the greenery of El Retiro Park, everything is easily accessible on foot. This convenience was a major plus, allowing us to make the most of our time in the city without worrying about long commutes.

The rooms at Hotel Preciados are your typical European-sized rooms—not overly large but absolutely comfortable. Despite not having much of a view, this didn’t bother me as we were only in the room at night to sleep. The design is well-thought-out, with a spacious feel and all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. The bathroom was a highlight, sparkling clean with a huge walk-in shower big enough for two, making it a luxurious space to freshen up after a day of exploring.

Breakfast at Hotel Preciados is served in the restaurant on the ground floor, offering a wide range of lovely food to start your day right. The evening dining experience is equally delightful, with the restaurant transforming into a full-service dinner venue, complete with white tablecloths, and a bar area that serves delicious tapas.

ICON Casona 1900

Traveling solo in Madrid, I had the pleasure of staying at ICON Casona 1900, a charming boutique hotel located in the elegant Salamanca neighbourhood. Here’s why ICON Casona 1900 will be my go-to hotel for all future visits to Madrid.

The staff at ICON Casona 1900 are nothing short of amazing. Alejandra at the front desk and Maria, the manager, set the tone with their warm welcomes and exceptional service. They, along with the rest of the staff, including the Italian bartender Michael and the night clerk, went above and beyond to make my stay pain-free and special.

The breakfast buffet at ICON Casona 1900 was on point. Marya, who speaks great English, made the breakfast service delightful with her friendly nature, and Dario from the kitchen whipped up delicious omelets. Starting my day with such a fantastic breakfast made a significant difference in my overall experience.

Located in the beautiful neighbourhood of Salamanca, ICON Casona 1900 is surrounded by top-rated restaurants, shops, and cafes. This area is less crowded and more refined compared to the bustling Gran Via, providing a more relaxed atmosphere to explore Madrid. Walking around Salamanca was a pleasure, with its elegant streets and high-end boutiques.

The hotel itself is a blend of elegance and modernity, with state-of-the-art technology and stylish decor. Every detail is taken care of with diligence and mastery, making the stay exceptionally comfortable. The rooms, although on the smaller side, are well-designed and super clean, reflecting the typical European style.

Thank you, ICON Casona 1900, for an exceptional stay—I’ll definitely be back!

Alba Room Mate Hotel

Getting a good hotel this time was not an easy task as Taylor swift was performing in Madrid during my visit. This meant that hotels x10 their prices and most were fully booked out. Luckily, I managed to secure this gem.

From the moment I arrived, Jose at the front desk was lovely and incredibly accommodating. His friendly demeanor and willingness to go the extra mile made a significant impact on my stay. He even took the time to show me my room before I checked in to ensure that everything was to my liking, which was a thoughtful gesture I greatly appreciated.

The room itself was spacious, well-decorated, and impeccably clean. I particularly loved the charming balcony, which provided a lovely spot to unwind after a day of exploring the city. The air conditioning worked flawlessly, which was a blessing during Madrid's extreme summer heat.

The hotel's location is another highlight. Located in a vibrant area, it is surrounded by charming spots for food, coffee, and shopping. Despite being in such a lively neighborhood, the hotel was peaceful and quiet at night, ensuring a restful sleep. The blackout curtains and soft pillows added to the comfort, making it easy to recharge for the next day's adventures.

One of the standout aspects of my stay was the hotel's beautiful decor and great vibe. The stylish design and attention to detail created a unique and inviting atmosphere. The rooms were not only comfortable but also incredibly cute and charming, which added a special touch to my stay.

Breakfast at the Alba Room Mate Hotel was a delightful experience. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and offered a wide variety of options. Each morning felt like a treat, with so many delicious items to choose from, some of which changed daily, keeping the selection exciting and satisfying.
