Must-Try Restaurants in Playa Hermosa

If you're in Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica, and looking for incredible places to eat, let me take you on a little food journey. I’ve been lucky enough to try some truly mouthwatering dishes at some amazing spots, and trust me, you’ll want to check these out! Whether you’re a foodie, a cocktail lover, or just someone who enjoys a great ambiance, these restaurants have got you covered. So, are you ready to dig in?

Ginger Restaurant Bar – The Luxurious Treehouse of Flavors

Imagine dining in a chic, modern treehouse, surrounded by nature, while indulging in a creative mix of Asian-fusion small plates. That’s exactly what Ginger Restaurant Bar delivers. This place takes tapas-style dining to a whole new level, with dishes so delicious you’ll find yourself savoring every bite like it’s the last.

I started my meal with their Tarka Dal, which was spiced to absolute perfection, paired with fluffy, lightly salted butter naan. If you love bold flavors, you have to try the Red Curry Beef on Crispy Plantain – it was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before. The Thai Curry Beef? Let’s just say I was this close to audibly moaning while eating it. It was that good.

And let’s talk about dessert. The pavlova, chocolate torte, and peanut butter banana parfait all sounded tempting, but I went with the chocolate torte – rich, decadent, and the perfect way to end the meal.

If you love high-quality food, incredible service, and a unique atmosphere, Ginger is a must-visit. Pro tip: Go at sunset. Watching the sky change colors through the trees while sipping on a well-crafted cocktail? Absolute magic.

Aquasport – Beachside Bliss with a Fun Twist

Want to dine with your toes in the sand while sipping on an ice-cold cocktail? Then Aquasport is your spot. This place is right on the beach, making it a dream location to enjoy a laid-back meal with a view straight out of a travel magazine.

One thing you’ll love? The fun and lively atmosphere. There’s music, a giant swing, and even an oversized rocking chair for those Insta-worthy moments. And, if you're lucky, you might even spot some monkeys swinging through the trees above you – how cool is that?

Food-wise, this spot delivers! It was the only restaurant I found with a dedicated vegetarian section, which was a huge win. And if you’re into cocktails, don’t leave without trying their signature mango chiliguaros or frozen mojitos – strong, refreshing, and worth every penny.

One of my favorite things? The staff here are super welcoming, and they have a kind heart toward the local stray animals that wander through. It’s little touches like these that make a restaurant experience extra special.

Just a heads-up – prices are on the higher side, but hey, with that view, that vibe, and those flavors, it’s totally worth it.
