Two Best Hotels in Madrid

URSO Hotel & Spa

I travel often, and I must say that URSO Hotel & Spa in Madrid has truly made an indelible mark on me. The hotel staff distinguishes themselves from all the other hotels I have had the pleasure of staying at, as their exceptional friendliness and politeness is commendable. Every single staff member was so kind, helpful, friendly, and professional. Their genuine warmth and hospitality made me feel right at home.

The room service is impeccable, refreshing rooms before sunset with chocolate on the pillow, water bottles, and the next day's forecast with suggestions for sightseeing. Little touches like fresh water and bedside mats at turndown service, daily notes with surprising facts about Madrid, and a thoughtful gift of biscuits from a local convent at departure brought a real sense of occasion and specialness to my stay.

The bedding is extraordinary, starting with the cotton sheets that undoubtedly have a thread count surpassing 700, guaranteeing a pleasant restful sleep. The hotel is beautiful inside and out, and the location is convenient, being in close proximity to the renowned Gran Via, with so many side streets, shops, and restaurants to discover.

The spa services offered are rejuvenating, leaving me feeling completely relaxed. The hotel staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest's needs are met. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by a staff member who assisted with my bags and ensured a smooth check-in process. Liz at the bar provided excellent recommendations, and I looked forward to seeing her every time I visited for a cocktail.

Despite some light construction noise in the morning, the overall experience was so delightful that I didn't mind the noise. Each night, I received a thoughtful letter about the weather and a treat. When it was pouring outside, a bellman kindly allowed me to use his umbrella so I could cross the street and grab some coffee.

The neighborhood is fantastic, with an array of local restaurants, cafes, and even a kids' playground to enjoy. I have just spent two nights at the URSO Hotel and it was completely brilliant. As a relatively frequent visitor to Spain, I will absolutely make this my accommodation of choice for each and every visit from now on. I plan to send my parents here for a short trip so they can experience the loveliness of the hotel and its brilliant and well-situated location. URSO Hotel & Spa in Madrid has set a new standard for me, and I truly loved my stay.

Relais & Châteaux Heritage Madrid

When staying in a large city with an infinite number of hotels to select from, finding a way to sort through the possibilities is critical. Relais & Châteaux properties consistently offer a welcoming, well-appointed experience with gracious, knowledgeable staff. My recent stay at the hotel exceeded these expectations and set a new gold standard for the brand.

The property is situated in a very accessible but quiet part of the city. I found this location ideal—far enough from the bustling tourist areas to feel serene.

Upon arrival, despite arriving before my room was ready, the hotel staff provided a room to refresh and store my luggage until my room was prepared. This thoughtful gesture, facilitated by the extremely helpful general manager, Julian, set the tone for the rest of my stay.

The bedrooms and bathrooms, while not huge, are beautifully designed with comfortable beds, pillows, and amenities. Each room has a unique design, adding a personalized touch to the stay. The attention to detail in the decor creates an atmosphere of elegance and comfort.

Breakfast at the Heritage Madrid is a highlight, offering a range of delicious options for both large and small appetites. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty meal to kickstart your day or a light bite, the variety ensures you’ll find something to enjoy.

The hotel’s restaurant and rooftop bar are equally impressive. The rooftop bar, adorned with climbing roses and jasmine, is a perfect spot to unwind with a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing. The tranquil setting, combined with excellent drinks and snacks, makes it a true oasis in the city.

The staff at Heritage Madrid go above and beyond to ensure every guest's needs are met. From handling special requests to offering local recommendations, their dedication to providing exceptional service is evident in every interaction.

Despite my preference for modern hotels, I was pleasantly surprised by the blend of old-world charm and modern amenities at Heritage Madrid. Opened in 2018, the hotel successfully melds the best of both worlds. The rooftop lounge offers a great place to relax, and the surrounding area has many fantastic shops within walking distance.
