Luxury Escape at La Cala Resort

During my solo getaway to La Cala Resort, I found myself nestled in the peaceful countryside of the Mijas Hills, just a stone’s throw away from the beautiful Costa del Sol. La Cala Resort is a haven for those looking to escape the hustle of coastal towns and retreat into a luxurious setting surrounded by nature.

From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed like an old friend. The staff greeted me with such warmth and attention, making me feel instantly at ease. The lobby was spotless and exuded a calm, sophisticated atmosphere. It was clear that General Manager Pablo knew his team well, and the vibe throughout the hotel was one of genuine care and hospitality, which added to the overall experience.

The resort itself is traditionally styled with a charming central courtyard featuring a fountain, giving it a classic Andalusian feel. My room, a superior one, was spacious, spotless, and decorated beautifully. It had everything I needed for a comfortable stay—plenty of storage, a huge balcony, a fridge, and even a kettle for a quick tea break. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room came with a private sun deck on the roof, complete with an outdoor shower to cool off during the sunny afternoons. It felt like my own little retreat in the hills.

The breakfast was a treat every morning. The buffet had everything you could want—fresh bread, warm croissants straight from the oven, and an impressive fruit selection that was one of the best I’ve ever seen at a hotel breakfast. The staff were always friendly and welcoming, even when the restaurant got a bit busy with larger groups. Portions were generous, and while I may have been slightly overwhelmed by the cheesecake dessert at dinner, it was still delicious!

La Cala is about 15 minutes from the beach, and while it’s not a beachfront hotel, the setting more than makes up for it. If you fancy a beach day, they offer a free transfer, which is super convenient. But honestly, with three championship golf courses, a serene spa, swimming pools, and multiple bars and restaurants on-site, I didn’t feel the need to leave the resort much. Designed by architect Cabell B. Robinson, the golf courses are a real highlight, offering beautiful panoramic views of the Andalusian countryside and the Mediterranean. Whether you're an avid golfer or just looking for some luxury relaxation, this resort ticks all the boxes.

In short, La Cala Resort is perfect for a peaceful, luxury getaway. The combination of stunning views, top-notch service, and excellent amenities made my stay truly memorable. Whether you're here for the golf, the spa, or just to unwind, you’ll leave feeling relaxed and well taken care of.
