CordeValle Golf: Bold Beauty Amidst California's Landscape

California is known for its beauty and diversity, and CordeValle Golf Club encapsulates the quintessential California experience for golfers. Located just 30 minutes south of San Jose, this 1700-acre golf club and boutique resort have it all. I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised by the course conditions. Considering it's autumn and there has been some wet weather, I had tempered my expectations. But CordeValle Golf Club delivered. The fairways were lush, the greens rolled true, and the bunkers were impeccable. It's clear that they take great pride in maintaining the course. The course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., is as bold as California itself. It meanders through a valley adorned with oak trees and surrounded by golden foothills. It's no wonder it ranks No. 7 in California on Golfweek's Best Courses You Can Play list for public-access courses. My preferred hole at CordeValle has got to be the 9th, even though it's not an ideal fit for my game. This hole features an elevated tee and a divided fairway with a creek running through it. If you opt for the right fairway, it provides a clearer approach shot. On the other hand, selecting the safer left fairway might lead to the challenge of dealing with a large oak tree obstructing your second shot. Now, the ultimate question: Is CordeValle worth a visit just for the golf course? Well, that depends on your budget. While it may not surpass Pebble Beach on your Northern California resort list, it's a golf destination you should keep on your radar. The combination of outstanding course conditions, breathtaking scenery, and a touch of luxury makes it a memorable golfing experience.

So, fellow golfers, if you're in search of big, bold, and beautiful golf in California, make sure to include CordeValle Golf Club in your itinerary. Until next time.
