Monterey's Charms and Cozy Nights

Monterey, California - this place has a character as strong as a tee shot down the fairway. The moment I strolled through its streets, I was struck by the coastal charm that exudes from every nook and cranny. It's got that laid-back, rugged vibe that speaks to the adventurer in me. The smell of the salty sea breeze, the call of seagulls, and the sight of rugged cliffs framing the endless ocean horizon, well, it's nothing short of breathtaking.

Now, let's talk about where I've been resting my head each night during this adventure - the Monterey Plaza Hotel. This place is the epitome of comfort and luxury. The pillows, man, they're something else. The fluffiest I've ever felt, and I've felt my fair share of pillows. The beds, well, they're downright amazing. You can just sink into them and forget about the world. And don't get me started on the sound of sea life outside your balcony. It's like Mother Nature herself is singing you a lullaby. It's exquisite.

In this place, they know how to treat a guest. Plenty of towels in the room, and the toiletries, well, they're decent quality, which is a welcome touch. But what really sets this hotel apart is the staff. A special shoutout to Chris, who made sure every part of my stay was top-notch. The spa and gym team? They're on point. And of course, the wait staff and bartenders at Schooners, where I had one of the best lychee martinis made with Empress gin. You've got to try it. And the Baja bowl with shrimps - to die for. The mango salsa, the cilantro, I actually liked a dish with cilantro for the first time in my life.

And let's not forget about the lobby bar. It's got a great staff and infused waters in both the lobby and the spa gym. They've thought of everything to make your stay here as pleasant as a birdie on a par-5. This hotel knows how to make you feel at home, and it's been a central part of my California golfing adventure.
